Over time, you may want to clean up your personal map by removing places that are no longer relevant — a restaurant that closed, a duplicate entry, or a spot you saved by mistake. Placify gives you two quick ways to delete a place.

Method 1: Swipe to delete from the place list

The fastest way to remove a single place is from the place list view:

  1. Open your place list — you can find it from the main map screen or within any view.
  2. Find the place you want to remove.
  3. Swipe left on the place entry.
  4. Tap the “Delete” button that appears.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Method 2: Delete from the place details screen

If you’re already viewing a place’s full details:

  1. Open the place details screen by tapping on any saved place.
  2. Look for the delete option in the menu or at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap it and confirm your choice.

What happens when you delete a place

Deleting a place is permanent. The place, along with all its attached photos, notes, tags, and visit history, will be removed from your account. The place is also removed from any views it belonged to. This action cannot be undone, so take a moment to confirm before deleting.

Tips

  • If you’re unsure about deleting, consider removing the place from a specific view rather than deleting it entirely.
  • For duplicate places, use the merge feature instead of deleting one and losing its data. See our guide on merging places to learn more.
  • If you delete a place by accident, you can always add it back — but you’ll need to re-attach any photos and notes manually.
