- Wrapping up 2025 with a quiet but productive holiday session.
- Instead of pushing new features (*a lot of work is coming soon*), we dedicated this release to quality, fixing bugs, reducing tech debt, and polishing the experience you use every day.
- This update focuses on the foundations that make Placify reliable over time: accuracy, performance, and consistency across your everyday workflows.
- Over the past months, we noticed a pattern in user feedback and internal usage:
- Photos occasionally linking to multiple places
- Map performance degrading as data grows
- Search and memory-related flows becoming less responsive in edge cases
- These weren’t always obvious issues, but they added friction over time.
- For this release, we chose to pause feature expansion and invest in making Placify more dependable for long-term use.
- We refined the way photos are automatically associated with places:
- Each photo now links to a single, most accurate place
- Reduced duplicate and conflicting associations
- Improved confidence in automatic place detection without sacrificing flexibility
- Added photo capture time filtering in Map view
- Optimized map loading behavior for larger datasets
- Added new Smart View templates
- Including *Review Your 2025*, offering new ways to revisit your records
- Fixed incorrect place memory notifications
- Resolved performance issues in place category search
- Added support for resetting photo capture dates
- As we move into 2026, we’ll shift our focus back toward new features and deeper experiences.
- Before that, our goal with 1.3.3 is simple: make Placify something you can trust every day.
